The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) created the Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) credential in 2013. The RBT is based on the principles of shaping human behavior through the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). There was a need for qualified trained paraprofessional staff to assist with the implementation of care plans created by a Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA). RBTs do not create care plans for individuals, they work under the direct, on-going supervision of a BCBA. To qualify for an RBT credential a candidate must be at least 18 years of age and have at least a high school diploma or the equivalent. If those criteria are met, candidates must then take a 40-hour online, video-based training course with modules designed to prepare them to sit for an initial Competency Assessment. The multiple choice questions are designed to help you remember terms and concepts that are on the BACB's RBT Task List. Our practice exam can be taken at any time and as many times as needed from any Internet-connected device. It is not timed but keep in mind the actual exam takes 90 minutes to complete.
